THE STORY SO FAR
This past November, I received the phone call that no one wants to get—the call telling me that I have cancer.
I was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL), a rare form of blood cancer. My indicator was a swollen lymph node that I discovered myself, and I am thankful that I went to my doctors to get it checked out immediately.
Understanding the Diagnosis
Since then, I have undergone scans, blood work, and biopsies that confirmed the diagnosis and landed me at Stage 3.
However, it is important to know that staging works differently with MCL; it simply indicates the spread. As of now, the cancer is contained to my lymph nodes and is not bothering any other parts of my body.
Furthermore, since my labs are holding steady and my body is fighting the fight, I have been placed on the "Active Surveillance" protocol, which means no conventional treatment is needed at this time.
Of course, this doesn't mean that I sit and do nothing
My faith, my attitude, my diet, an amazing support system, and my supplements have been key factors in the journey so far. So many have reached out asking how they can support, and I can finally answer that question.
